We are the Pan African nonprofit research, advocacy and think-and-do tank promoting Afrocentric sustainable development initiatives across the African continent in line with the United Nations sustainable development goals (SDGs).
While there is no shortage of organizations researching and promoting the SDGs, the majority is done from an external and western lens view.
Part of what makes us unique is that we promote home grown solutions from an African paradigm across the continent through rigorous studies that are peer reviewed, supported by a very competent and multinational governing council and editorial board.
Results of the studies carried out by AJSD will be utilized to develop Pan African, regional or country-specific policy frameworks that will drive sustainable development initiatives across the 54 countries of Africa in concert with the African Union, the United Nations and other development partners.
Our governing council and editorial board comprise a multinational team of some of Africa’s finest experts on the continent and in the diaspora. Our goal is to leave a legacy of sustainable development for Africa.
For further information please contact us by email on info@ajsd.org. or through any of our social media handles. Our operations model is designed to provide what we consider the missing link in Africa’s sustainable development which is an Afrocentric development paradigm; offering a nexus between research, practice and policy.
